WHY BN IS THE PEOPLE'S FIRST CHOICE?

In the lead up to GE 13, amid all the noise and negativity coming from an increasingly desperate Pakatan Rakyat, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has laid out clearly the reasons for Barisan Nasional's popularity.
Vision and direction are key, and BN has proven this in abundance during the nation's development, he said.
The quality that sets a true leader apart from the rest of the political crowd is vision – the long-term goal that he wants to set for his country. This is often lacking in politicians who just want power for power's sake. A leader, on the other hand, knows where he wants to take his country and how exactly to get there.
Najib has displayed this quality on several occasions, the most recent being the National Education Blueprint 2013-2025, where he has set in motion plans for the country's education system 12 years from now.
He said that, as an experienced party and the backbone of BN, Umno has always implemented policies towards a brighter future for the nation.
In comparison, Pakatan Rakyat is riven by dissension, so much so that none of the 'partners' can decide on key issues. With PAS fighting DAP over hudud, Karpal fighting his bête noire P Ramasamy, and everyone in PKR fighting each other for power, Pakatan is a shambles.
So who in Pakatan is thinking 12 years ahead for the nation, let alone 5 years ahead?
The only thing Pakatan leaders want is to take over Putrajaya. After that, they will try to cobble some kind of makeshift policies together and hope to run the country that way – that is Pakatan's grand plan.
Umno and its BN allies, on the other hand, formed a pact over policies that were mutually supported and there is therefore no conflict in policy or ideology. This is necessary for effective governance.
"Thirdly, we have a proven track record of our achievements which cannot be disputed in managing the nation, whereby, we have also received the confidence of the people that the road map to the future was based on our capability to implement all these while.
"This means, the people are confident of our capability in implementing the national agenda, namely, a major transformation, which we are keen to show," he said.
Najib, is also BN chairman and Umno president, was speaking in an exclusive interview with the editors ofBernama and Utusan Malaysia before the 2012 Umno General Assembly this week.
He pointed out that as a government, Umno and BN had the moral strength and capacity to always fulfil their promises. The same cannot be said of Pakatan, whose populist leaders have failed to keep promises worth RM2.4 billion in Selangor alone. He said Pakatan promised the moon and deceived voters to meet their desire of conquering Putrajaya.
Finally, the Prime Minister said the people should not gamble away their future by handing over the country to a motley collection of parties that could not deliver a better future for our people.
"Our future, the future of our children are too valuable to be gambled with, on the other hand with BN, the level of confidence is higher... this can be seen from the market performance with the entries of local and foreign investors," he said.
Najib has already shown that he wants Malaysia to be a competitive country where it matters not which community you're from but how good you are. He has implemented reforms to unleash the potential of Malaysians and to spread the benefits of development to all sections of the population.
Economy, education, security laws, and the electoral process – there is no area which the Prime Minister has left untouched in his plan to make Malaysia the leading nation in Southeast Asia.
That's the difference between a true leader and a wannabe Opposition coalition.
